Online couples therapy Australia
Through Amora Psychology, Clinical Psychologist Madison Sundgren provides online couples therapy via secure telehealth appointments for couples across Australia.
Finding a couples therapist who feels like the right fit shouldn’t depend entirely on your postcode.
Online therapy can be particularly useful for couples managing work, parenting, distance or busy schedules, as well as those looking for a therapist with specific experience in Emotionally Focused Therapy or neurodivergent relationships.
Telehealth allows both partners to attend therapy from a familiar environment without travel time.
Online couples therapy may suit you if
- you live outside the Sunshine Coast
- you are looking for a therapist with a particular area of experience
- work or parenting makes travel difficult
- you prefer the comfort and privacy of your own home
- you and your partner are managing busy schedules
The online therapy process
The heart of couples therapy is not the room we are sitting in. It is creating enough safety to slow down the patterns happening between you, understand what each person is experiencing, and practise responding differently to each other.
The assessment and therapy process can both be completed via telehealth.
Couples begin with a structured assessment involving a joint session, individual sessions with each partner, questionnaires, and a feedback and treatment planning session. This helps us understand what is happening before deciding together what ongoing support would be most useful.
If ongoing therapy is appropriate, my work is primarily guided by Emotionally Focused Therapy and adapted to the needs of each couple.
Online couples therapy is available to couples across Australia.
