Amora Psychology

Couples therapy

Couples therapy focused on emotional safety, deeper connection, and understanding the patterns beneath conflict in committed relationships.

A contained space to understand what is happening between you

Amora Psychology works with couples who care about their relationship but feel stuck in repeating arguments, distance, or tension. Therapy offers a calm space to slow things down, identify the pattern underneath conflict, and rebuild emotional safety and connection.

Couples may seek support for repeating conflict cycles, shutdown, defensiveness, feeling unheard, loss of closeness, trust strain, high-stress seasons such as parenthood or caregiving, and difficulty repairing after arguments.

Emotionally Focused Therapy

Madison works from Emotionally Focused Therapy, an evidence-based approach that focuses on the emotional patterns underneath conflict. In EFT, couples slow down what happens in moments of disconnection, explore what each partner is feeling beneath surface reactions, and create safer ways of reaching for each other.

Assessment pathway

Couples therapy begins with a structured assessment phase. This usually includes an initial couples session, individual sessions for each partner, assessment questionnaires, and a feedback and planning session.

There is no obligation to continue beyond assessment. Ongoing couples therapy proceeds only if both partners choose to move forward.

Suitability

This approach suits couples who are willing to slow things down, engage honestly, explore emotions underneath conflict, and work toward clearer communication, stronger repair, and more closeness.

Couples therapy may be outside scope where there is domestic or family violence, coercion, ongoing affairs or undisclosed relationships, active addiction concerns, significant untreated mental health difficulties, or current separation where one or both partners are not open to relational repair.
